Working Languages

I have a Master’s degree in English Slovak translation and interpreting and I am currently getting my PhD in British and American studies. I am well-versed in decoding the nuances and references of the English language and transferring them into Slovak. And vice versa, of course :)

Slovak is my mother tongue and the language of my primary every-day communication. Slovak language will never cease to amaze me. It is tricky but ever so beautiful. I work on perfecting my grammar skills every day.

I consider Czech to be my second mother tongue – if there is such a thing. I have spent several years of my youth in Czechia and I am an ardent admirer of this beautiful and old language. I read and work with Czech texts almost on a daily basis and having a Czech family helps me with my Czech too.

Me and German go a long way back. I have a C1+ certificate in German and I have – with short breaks here and there – been studying it since my teenage years. I am still working on my German and therefore currently do not accept any translation projects in German.

About me

I am a professional translator, copywriter and interpreter in my middle 20s with 7 years of experience.

I am young, experienced, professional and an expert in what I do. Despite my constant need to be grammatically correct, I also have a whole creative side to me, which comes in handy when searching for the best words to suit my client’s needs.

I am also getting a PhD in my beloved field and I teach translation and interpreting courses at a university level.

Not to forget, I am already a mum. And you know that’s a plus because mums just know how to get stuff done while making everybody happy.
